I learned yesterday from the media that I will now be getting the silver medal instead of the bronze for the road race in Beijing. I can't get really enthusiastic about it, because the emotions that are one of the most important elements that make up competitive cycling are missing. But it is nice to be able to say that I won gold and silver at the Olympics.

I actually intended to enjoy a few days skiing before our team camp. But there is no snow to be seen.

Instead, the temperatures are very pleasant for training at the moment. The training is great fun on my mountain bike from Specialized.

Another highpoint for me will be on Saturday: the World Championship Reception in my home municipality of Ittigen. The venue on 21 November will be the assembly hall of the Upper School Centre, from 10.30 to 11.30 in the morning.

I am looking forward to meeting up with a lot of friends. Another date in my diary is 29 November, when I will be leaving with my team for the camp in Las Playitas on Fuertaventura until 13 December.
